Today marks the beginning of Ramadan here in the UAE and my fourth year to experience it. To those who don’t know what Ramadan is – it’s the 9th month of the Islamic Calendar and is observed by all Muslims around the World. Just like Christians on Holy Week, Muslims tend to practice fasting and refrain from other activities during the holy month of Ramadan. It is a time for spiritual reflection and worship. People also tend to do good deeds and charity at this time. A way of showing joy and gratitude for all that God has blessed us and reflect on those who have been given much less regardless if you’re Muslim or not. Feel free to wish your Muslim friends/colleagues “Ramadan Kareem” or just simply “Happy Ramadan“.
Happy Ramadan
