And since I’m officially back in the city, I thought of revisiting again my favourite spots where I used to hang out 2 years ago. Well, actually even when I was still living in Abu Dhabi, I often go to Dubai to meet friends and do my weekend habits. Only difference now is that I could call it a home again.
The past 4 weeks had been very busy and tiring for us as we moved in to our new apartment. There were so many things needed to be done such as paperworks, moving stuff from our old apartment, designing the new unit, of course home shopping (which we enjoyed a lot!) and then the house-warming last week. This is the first weekend where we could enjoy the city with no worries.
We decided to have lunch at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, nearby the famous Burj Al Arab. This place is one of my favourite spots in the city. Very authentic and calm, away from the crowd.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah is definitely one of the high-end places in Dubai, meaning most of the restaurants you will find here are quite pricey. I was craving for Paella yesterday but had no luck finding it here so we decided to try Japengo Café a home-grown restaurant which serves diverse international cuisines. I ordered their Nasi Goreng Istemewa (favourite), Fried California Maki and Yaki Soba. The food was good as expected and satisfied our cravings!
After we indulged ourselves, guess what’s our next activity? Everybody’s hobby in Dubai – Shopping! I tried to resist it but it’s really difficult! huhu. This is one thing I hate living in here! Shopping is really irresistible!

We ended the night by watching the Dubai Fountain show and Burj Khalifa LED display.
And that’s how we spent our first week in the city. We are indeed back in #MyDubai!
